‘The Climate Change Garden’ Teacher Training Programme

Developing productive growing spaces and supporting the ‘field to fork’ model in our schools

The Climate Change Garden

A second cohort of schools has recently completed ‘The Climate Change Garden’ teacher training programme. The training programme for primary and secondary teachers offers skills training to establish productive growing spaces in their school grounds. The programme includes practical workshops, online resources and promotes peer to peer support through teacher networks.

The programme is led by Carmarthenshire’s School Improvement Team in collaboration with gardening consultant Adam Jones (Adam yn yr Ardd). The training programme forms part of the current portfolio of school support to increase awareness and promote change to address the Climate and Nature Emergency. Developing productive growing spaces and the implementation of food literacy programmes across Carmarthenshire schools is a key focus within this work.
