There are lots of ways you can get involved in our movement from becoming a local ambassador to volunteering for one of our projects.
The simplest way to get started is to take a pledge to commit to one or more of our food goals.
Volunteering
Volunteering takes place every Wednesday during school term time at the farm. The day runs from 10am-3pm, with the option to come all day – or just the morning or afternoon.
We are currently recruiting volunteers in three areas across the project.
Bremenda Isaf Community Food Garden
We are developing a community engagement and education area for community groups and schools. Tasks vary from propagating, planting, tending and harvesting fruit and vegetables, developing wildlife friendly areas, propagating flowering plants and more. There is something for everyone in this area, and all ages and abilities are welcome.
The community garden was co-designed in 2025 with people from across Carmarthenshire with the aim of reflecting their ideas in the final plan. The garden is divided into four zones – no-dig vegetable garden, sensory garden, forest garden and forest school area, and an unusual and pioneering plants area.

Bremenda Isaf Market Garden
Bremenda Isaf market garden is a fast-paced organic market garden, growing a wide range of fruit and vegetables for school meals, community food projects, restaurants and shops. It offers a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of edible horticulture for experienced horticulturists. There are a wide variety of jobs from propagation and pruning, plant care and harvesting – as well as processing and packing.

Bremenda Isaf Machinery Hub for Growers and site maintenance
Carmarthenshire’s Machinery Hub for Growers is an innovative project to strengthen and diversify the local sustainable food economy by supporting a borrow don’t buy ethos with affordable access to a range of tools, equipment and processing facilities. This includes small items for market gardeners such as seeders, rollers and hoes. Also, cultivation equipment for field-scale production of vegetables including two-wheel pedestrian tractors and attachments, and tractor implements. We also host processing equipment for growers as well as grounds maintenance implements.
All of these tools and equipment require regular TLC. So, if you enjoy working with tools and machinery this is the role for you. There are also opportunities to get involved with using some of the machinery around the site and full training is provided.

For Schools and Community Groups
If you are a school or community group and would like to visit or get involved with activities in the community garden on a regular basis, do get in touch. Subject to capacity and staff availability we will do our best to accommodate you. If we can’t host you at present, we will keep your Expression of Interest on file and get in touch as and when opportunities become available. Please complete the contact form below detailing your name, organisation and how you’d like to get involved at Bremenda Isaf.

Our food goals
People across Carmarthenshire have helped us find 7 ways we can all help make our food better. Which could you support?
have pledged so far
Business or third sector organisation?
Join our Carmarthenshire Food Charter and show your commitment to local, sustainable food.
We’re asking organisations to:
- Support Carmarthenshire’s farmers, growers, and food producers by choosing local and sustainable food whenever you can
- Promote food choices that are food for the health of your staff, visitors or customers – and for the planet – by serving more seasonal, vegetable-centred meals, reducing food waste
- Cook more meals using fresh, local ingredients – reducing waste, improving the health of your staff and customers, and celebrating the flavours and traditions of Carmarthenshire
- Support projects and organisation which are helping people to grow their own food, supporting staff to reconnect with where their food comes from, and help build a greener, more resilient Carmarthenshire
- Reduce food waste and pollution by using leftovers, composting food scraps, and choosing low-impact packaging. Do your part to protect our environment and build a circular food system for future generations
- Celebrate Carmarthenshire’s rich food traditions and support its vibrant food future – by championing Welsh produce, and celebrating the creativity and culture that make our food unique
And we’ll share details of your business and successes through our website, newsletter and social media channels to those across the county.
