Future Generations Menu

In 2023, Carmarthenshire County Council commissioned the ‘Future Generations Menu’ research and development to look at the integrated impact of delivering the county’s current school menus. 

It explored the development of a framework for measuring economic, environmental and social impact and studied how redesigning the school menu could help facilitate a transition to procuring more sustainable food.

The next phase of this work is the implementation of a pilot project trialling a fully ‘sustainable’ menu delivery of meals where the supply chain delivers on all 7 Goals of the Well-Being of Future Generations Act 2015.
